Approximately eight months ago, Scanner connected the NETGEAR® ProSecure® UTM25 Unified Threat Management appliance to its local network, consisting of approximately 60 workstations and network devices, to filter external traffic. Scanner’s existing firewall was no longer adequately protecting the organization’s local network, leaving its network assets at risk from the increasing number and types of Internet-based threats. Scanner required a comprehensive security solution with the capability to filter inappropriate Internet content, block unwanted traffic, and protect the network from a wide range of threats, including malicious software and unauthorized access.
